I got cheat mode in settings enabled, started a game with some mods by ctrl-click on single player. Then opened the menu and clicked on cheat 5 cannons and the game crashed with the follwoing message:

he mod Orbital Ion Cannon (Space Edition) (3.8.3) caused a non-recoverable error.
Please report this error to the mod author.

Just tested, it happens in vanilla with just this mod too. And maybe important to know, Space age is not activated
