I saw this screenshot in the info page:

... and thought the info panel covers too much of the screen. You actually need to know much less than what it shows, and even that data can be compressed down a lot.
Even up to a point where there could be only small ion cannon icon and number after it (or below?), telling how many is ready to fire. For example in format "1 / 2", (when 1 ready, 2 total). It doesn't even need the gray background frame.
It would be possible to add also a tiny progressbar from just 1 ion cannon that is the most close to be ready.
