Having it as an actual buildable item on space platforms would be a godsend. Feel like vanilla SA lacks in the fun interplanetary military tools that SE provides, and it'd be such a cool addition!

Love this idea and fully agree. Just yesterday I was bemoaning being able to harvest asteroids using flexible grabbers and travel to other planets.. but at the same time, can't use any of that tech to rain down fire as either Lazers or Kinetic Energy Weapons on biters! +1 from me.

Yeah, you are absolutely right. I was constantly visiting this thread on an almost daily basis for weeks to see how the vote is going, but I was too lazy participating in the vote until now...
Definitely a +1 from me! I really enjoy this mod and appreciate your efforts in keeping this alive and improving it.
And I also absolutely love the idea of having the orbital cannon as sort of a building on the space stations (if technically viable). Sounds really exciting!

First I will restore compatibility for Factorio 2.0 only.
And then I have to play Space Age first to see how it works and only then could new Feastures be added (unless someone with more time and enough experience steps in). Until then, you are welcome to post ideas.

As someone said earlier, it would make sense to be able to lauch the ion cannon from a space platform (maybe only make it in orbit?).
We'll probably have to find a ‘trick’ to launch the ion cannon into orbit via a capsule/pod or something.

space age has centralised the buttons, so you no longer need to create an ‘ion cannon command’ object, it will (or should?) be in the menu on the right.
