The automated targeting will target tesla coils from K2 when they are revealed on the map by a radar scan. Was expanding my rail system and I placed down a tesla coil to recharge my trains batteries and got myself and my train vaporized from orbit.
I'll check it out, in the meantime disabling ion cannon worm targeting should keep it from firing at tesla coils. (The ion cannon looks for any hostile turrets, and the tesla coil uses an invisible hostile turret to function)
