i Request: Inlaid lamps project power

One of my favourite parts of inlaid lamps are lighting roadways and access points, and aesthetically they look great when you have as few power poles as possible.

5 diameter power distribution would make it possible to chain them up to 2 blocks apart. I don't think this would introduce any unreasonable strategies, but if so, perhaps it could be an settings option.

Thanks for keeping this up to date, the game looks much better with them.

Thanks for the suggestion!

This isn't as simple as you believe. The lamp prototype doesn't have a supply area. I'd have to place an invisible power pole on top of each lamp that allows just one connection and has a supply area of 5 tiles. However, that power pole must be hooked up to an electric network so that it can supply energy. It should provide no energy unless the lamp has energy as well. So we must search an area with a radius of 64 tiles (max value for supply area) around a lamp for a "electric-pole" type entity, make sure it has the same network id as the lamp, and connect the invisible pole to it. Now suppose the pole the lamp is hooked up to gets destroyed. This will also cut the connection to the hidden pole – but now we'd have to check the state of the lamp in regular intervals until it gets power again and we can reconnect the hidden pole.

I'm afraid this would be rather heavy on UPS because I'd have to check all lamps at regular intervals – and lamps are usually used in abundance.

Your honor I would like to retract my statement from the record, and dismiss the case.
