Every ore patch on every surface is infinite. Patches show a yield percent instead of an ore count - like oil wells - frozen forever at each patch's natural richness. The percent is the patch's mining speed: a 4,000% mega-patch runs its drills 40x faster, forever. A pure data-layer tweak: no scripting, no per-tick cost, no save bloat. Vanilla ores, Space Age, and modded resources all covered automatically. Dig forever, move never.
