With mods such as the bobs adjustable inserter, I believe that there should be an ability to either transfer one of the unlocks from that mod here as a research or to simply turn off the inserter alltogether

There are several other inserter control modes.
Many users use these modes.
Therefore, the "Diagonal Inserter" mode is redundant.
I would appreciate it if you could provide an optional option for this section to further reduce the number of modes in the mod list.
It's a reasonable argument.
