Trying 1.5.1. I've researched everything up through Mineral Science, but it's still unclear to me how to get iron ore or iron plates from the surface of Igrys. Is it intentional that all iron must be shipped in from orbit or other planets? Various alternative recipes exist for things like circuits and steel but I still need iron to build gears, belts, pipes, etc. I've looked carefully through the Factoriopedia and with FNEI and can't find a solution that gets iron from the surface. If it's intentional, it might warrant a note in the description of the planet that it is devoid of iron entirely.

I'd say four things:

First, for the things we are supposed to do on Igrys, you don't need iron. Green chips can be made without iron, but with Igrys bricks. Most everything else unique to Igrys takes steel which is the spoilage of the Igrys material.

Second, you can create a reource ship in space and have it over over Igrys dropping iron. I dropped iron ore and smelted it for gears and other things.

Third, import all your belts and factory buildings.

Finally, if you really need iron, if you've been to Fulgora believe you can recycle green chips that you make with Igrys only materials.
