Condensed Science

Compress science packs into heavy barrels (100 packs per barrel). Launch up to 50 barrels per rocket (5,000 science) without using more cargo stacks. Auto-supports modded science packs.

Features

• Space-efficient: Each barrel contains 100 science packs but weighs 20 kg, so 50 barrels fit per rocket
• Perfect rocket fill: 50 barrels × 100 science = exactly 5,000 science worth per rocket
• Auto-discovery: Automatically finds and supports all modded science packs
• Balanced recipes: Uses Centrifuge for compression (with water byproduct) and Chemical Plant (add water again) for decompression
• Colorful effects: Works with "Tintable Centrifuges" mod for beautiful colored centrifuge effects

How it works

1. Compression: 100 science packs + 1 barrel → 1 barreled science + 1000 water (in Centrifuge)
2. Decompression: 1 barreled science + 1000 water → 100 science packs + 1 barrel (in Chemical Plant)

Visual Effects

Install the "Tintable Centrifuges" mod alongside this one to see each different science compression recipe with its own unique color combination:

• Each science type gets a completely random color combination (blue+red+yellow, green+magenta+orange, etc.)
• The three centrifuge spinners will show completely different colors - because apparently that's just how science works! 🤷‍♂️
• Nobody knows why compressing automation science makes the centrifuge glow blue while logistics science makes it red - it's probably some quantum entanglement thing
• Without "Tintable Centrifuges", the mod works perfectly but uses the default green centrifuge glow (boring but functional)

Recommended Companion Mod

Pairs well with "Cargo Bay Limit Research" which limits rocket cargo bay space. With restricted cargo capacity, getting more science per cargo slot becomes a real game-changer!

Technology Requirements

The "Condensed Science" technology automatically inherits the same requirements as "Planet Discovery: Aquilo".

Modules

Productivity and Quality modules are disabled for condensed science recipes to prevent exploiting the compression/decompression cycle for productivity/quality upgrades.
