Blueprint Primer - exact item requests

Prime a furnace or assembler with the exact ingredients and fuel amounts its recipe needs, down to a partial stack. Drag over a row, ghost or built, to prime every machine of one kind, or stamp primed blueprints. Boilers, burner drills and locomotives get just the fuel. Construction robots deliver the item request.

Changelog

Version: 0.3.3
Date: 2026-09-26
  Info:
    - First release of the Factorio 2.0 rewrite on the mod portal. The mod is no longer deprecated.
Version: 0.3.2
Date: 2026-09-26
  Graphics:
    - New icons built on Factorio's own item-request marker: the tool and the shortcut both show it on a square of blueprint paper, the shortcut on the blue button style vanilla uses for its blueprint shortcuts.
    - New thumbnail: BP inside Factorio's item-request marker, on blueprint paper.
Version: 0.3.1
Date: 2026-09-26
  Features:
    - Drag the primer tool over a row of machines of one kind to prime them all at once. The window reads "Prime 6 × Stone furnace", shows what robots will bring for the whole group, and Request tops up and fuels each machine on its own numbers.
    - After such a drag, Blueprint takes the whole dragged area, belts and inserters included, with every machine of that kind primed.
  Changes:
    - Only machines light up while dragging the primer tool.
    - A drag over mixed kinds primes the kind nearest the middle, outlines those machines, marks the skipped ones in red, and says so.
Version: 0.3.0
Date: 2026-09-26
  Features:
    - Copying or blueprinting a primed built machine keeps its priming. Vanilla carried only fuel still waiting for robots; the copy now gets the full ingredient amounts and fuel, as long as the source's ingredients have not all arrived yet.
    - Shift+click settings paste copies priming. Pasting from a primed machine gives the destination the same recipe, craft count and fuel, topped up for what it already holds and with its own fuel estimate.
    - Unresearched recipes can be picked. The recipe picker shows them on a red slot, and a chosen one carries vanilla's "not unlocked" sign; Blueprint always works, and Request works everywhere except a built furnace, which only accepts ingredients for researched recipes.
  Changes:
    - The recipe row opens the mod's own picker instead of vanilla's recipe chooser, so unresearched recipes can be marked.
    - A drag over several machines outlines the one it primes (the one nearest the middle) and says that priming works one machine at a time.
    - The primer tool leaves the cursor once it has picked a machine and the priming window opens. A pick that finds nothing primable keeps it in hand to try again.
    - Requires Factorio 2.0.74 or newer, whose blueprint API keeps train couplings when a copy is rewritten.
Version: 0.2.0
Date: 2026-09-25
  Features:
    - Rewritten for Factorio 2.0. Priming now works on one machine at a time instead of a whole blueprint: point the primer tool at a furnace or assembler, ghost or built, and a window opens for that machine alone.
    - Partial item requests. Ask for exactly the ingredients a chosen number of crafts needs, down to a partial stack, not a whole one.
    - A fuel estimate for burner machines, computed from the recipe, the machine's crafting speed and energy usage, and the chosen fuel's value, so a steel furnace correctly asks for less coal than a stone one.
    - Boilers, burner mining drills, burner inserters and locomotives get a fuel-only window: pick a fuel and a count up to what the fuel slots hold.
    - Primed blueprints: take a copy of the primed machine, recipe and request into a fresh blueprint to stamp down a row of identically-primed furnaces or assemblers.
    - The shortcut-bar button puts the primer tool in your cursor; ALT + P over a machine opens its priming window directly.
  Compatibility:
    - A 1.1 save that had 0.1.1 keeps working when opened in 2.0. The old whole-blueprint window and its top-bar button are removed on load.
    - Works with or without Space Age and Quality. Quality recipes request quality ingredients, biochambers get nutrients, and a biochamber cracking oil gets a fuel-only window that keeps its recipe.
Version: 0.1.1
Date: 2024-08-10
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed a bad copy-paste in the 0.1.0 priming code.
Version: 0.1.0
Date: 2024-08-09
  Features:
    - Initial 1.1 release. Primed a whole blueprint in one pass: every assembler in it got a recipe from one shared picker, and every burner got fuel.
