I plan to restart this modpack. Instead of distributing mod files directly, I will provide a download script. For example, I will package the script inside a mod ZIP archive, and players only need to extract the ZIP to get the script.
The script will download mods from their official websites by letting users fill in their own cookies. After downloading completes, the script will automatically modify certain mods — mainly edits to control.lua and some quality-of-life tweaks for personal preference. These files cannot be modified through data.raw.
I would like to ask: does this method violate open-source licenses?I hope someone can clarify this for me.Currently, this placeholder mod has no actual functions. If I am clearly informed that this approach is compliant, I will officially release the modpack.
If this download-and-modify method is still deemed copyright infringement, I will mark this mod as Deprecated once again.
