xRed's Factory Planner and Efficiency Analyzer

Three planners in one window, all reading the running game's own prototype tables, so they work with any mod set. Factory: ask for X per second and get machine counts, module and beacon effects, raw inputs and a blueprint whose rows are as long as one saturated belt can feed. Power: size an accumulator bank, a solar field or a steam plant against the night on the surface you are standing on. Shortages: rank what your machines are actually waiting for.

Pretty nice mod, I love how it provides the source information.

Some feedback,
1. Allow resizing the GUI, or fix it at a smaller size. Half the GUI is just empty space, it could be trimmed in half vertically.
2. Remember GUI location when moving between tabs. It's currently fixed to the centre of the GUI and reset every tab change. I think it should be header fixed, and remeber the header location for ease of use.
3. Add a Pause button so we can pause the game while fiddling with Factory or reading the information.
4. Item/Fluid selection for Factory doesn't respect "Only use researched technology". On a Space Exploration run it floods the selection with many items I don't have yet.
5. "Leave out production steps" doesn't work with Smelting in Space Exploration even though the category is 'smelting'. I haven't tested with Vanilla

Other than those minor things, it's a very handy mod.

Couple more things, it'd be very handy to have a "minimum perfect ratio" option instead of a fixed production rate. That would allow proper ratioed production instead of having to increment slowly until the ratios line up

For number 5, it suddently started working for some reason. Not sure what changed.

Cheers, I really appreciate the feedback! Achieving that minimum perfect ratio is essentially what the 'snap to belt' feature is for.
It optimizes everything to perfectly match the maximum items-per-second of a fully saturated belt.

However, your idea takes that concept a step further. I really like it and might include it in the next update!

Thanks for the great feedback! I'm glad you're enjoying the source info feature.

You've raised some excellent points. The GUI definitely needs a bit of love regarding the empty space and remembering its dragged position.
I'll add those UI tweaks to my to-do list, along with a Pause button so you don't get eaten by biters while planning!

Regarding the Space Exploration issues (the research filter flooding and the smelting step exclusion), overhaul mods handle custom items and categories a bit differently than Vanilla. I'll dive into the code and see if I can improve the compatibility and tag filtering for SE.

However, if you use the red buttons in the right pane to set an item as provided, it will be ignoring the smelting steps.
But yes, it is a compatibility issue with properly reading the recepies, I'll definitely refine this.

Really appreciate you taking the time to write this out. Stay tuned for the next updates!
