Factorio 2.1 fork of Nicer Fuel Glow for Space Age by Grillex, itself a reupload of Nicer Fuel Glow by FlamingCarrot with later fixes by wretlaw120 (Nicer Fuel Glow But Updated).
The previous versions are no longer updated, so this fork keeps the mod working on Factorio 2.1. All credit goes to the original authors.
Do not enable it together with a previous version (they are marked as incompatible). Settings changed in a previous version must be set again.

What colour is fire? Trick question: it depends on the chemistry of the fuel and the temperature of the furnace.

Nicer Fuel Glow replaces Factorio's standard white glow with a scale that goes from "pine embers" to "Cherenkov blue", with a few exceptions: nuclear fuel glows radium green, and electric furnaces glow hot-metal orange.

Affects boilers, stone and steel furnaces, electric furnaces, burner inserters, and reactors. Modded entities built on these should also be supported, as well as reactors that use the fuel glow colour.

All modded fuels are supported, but a little configuration gives better results. See the startup settings in game:

  • Peak fuel value: set it to the fuel value of the strongest fuel you use regularly (default: nuclear fuel).
  • Floor fuel value: set it to the fuel value of the weakest fuel you use regularly (default: wood).
  • Colour multiplier: increase it if everything still looks too blue.
  • Lock vanilla fuel colours: keeps the vanilla fuels at fixed, hand-picked colours.
