what is the point of this mod? as far as i can tell it just exists to make aquilo easier for no reason

doesn't any mod change how the game works?

yes, but most mods either add small quality of life or add other new things that justify any changes to the base gameplay
this just makes aquilo easier (for no reason) and does nothing else

it was just a mod i wanted to make as a technical challenge, yes it does make aquilo easier, i don't use it myself, but some people will really enjoy a shortcut

note that this also helps on platforms and anywhere else you have a reactor, its not strictly just for aquilo

Why even make a useless comment like this, akipgamer? What is to be gained? If you don't like the mod, don't use it and move on.

WHY?? Because he can, that's why. and underground heating is real. heat is actually transferred better then it is ran under the ground. the ground helps insolate, this should be base game.
Good game Quezler!

I was recording my first episode on Aquilo today and I said "You know, I wish there was an underground heat pipe. You know that would be nice and handy, wouldn't it?"

So I was curious and went to the mod portal, searched for heat pipe and what came up first!
I may try this. Though I generally don't use any mod that removes a legitimate challenge from the game. I do love QoL mods though. I am not experienced enough yet on Aquilo to decide whether the heat pipe architecture is going to be a challenge or just tedious. If it ends up being tedious I'm absolutely using this mod.

yeah i recommend doing at least one normal playthrough on aquilo before resorting to this shortcut mod :D

Indeed. My first playthrough is pure vanilla, so I'll have it all figured out by the time I have to pick my mods for the next run. ;)
Thanks for your effort. I'll check out your other mods. Always good to find someone who enjoys coding challenges.

I was tempted to try Disposable Construction Bots but I'm already using How It Should Have Started, made by a friend of mine.
Your solution to early bots looks pretty creative.

Once you've got 4000 hours in Factorio, the wait to get bots is just tedious. This current run I'm doing with vanilla has been a painful start but having a pretty good time now and just got to Aquilo.

(ps feel free to join my discord for some more convenient chatting than discussion posts)

the disposable construction mod was made during closed playtesting, i needed a simple mod that was compatible with 2.0 and wasn't abusable later in the game, so it just gives you some bots that spill completely outside of your inventory and a very bare bones roboport just to get through that initial grind since placing/moving/removing stuff by hand is just not fun on a larger scale
