Quality Logistic Requests

by Buttpie

I wanted to request 150 mining drills without setting up a different request for every quality. This mod lets you pick the item and the total, then uses the best stock your logistics network has available.

Quality Logistic Requests

Ask for 150 mining drills, and let the robots bring the best mix your network has available. You dont need a separate request for every quality.

If there are 20 rare drills, 50 uncommon drills and enough common ones in stock, the request becomes:

Quality Amount
Rare 20
Uncommon 50
Common 80
Total 150

Items already in your inventory count towards the total. The mod also accounts for deliveries already on their way.

⚙ What it does

  • Combines different qualities into one requested total per item.
  • Chooses the highest quality available first.
  • Keeps the chosen mix steady by default, even if network stock changes.
  • Checks again when you enter a logistics network or click Check now.
  • Offers optional continuous updates as better stock becomes available.
  • Supports up to 1,000 different items, including selectable modded items.
  • Lets you pause individual items or the whole request list.

This handles your character's inventory. For upgrading buildings and modules already placed in the factory, use Quality Upgrade Planner.

⚙ Make a request

  1. Research personal logistics and stand inside a logistics network with logistic robots and accessible stock.
  2. Open the logistic robot button beside your inventory, or use the mod's shortcut.
  3. Choose an item, enter the total you want to carry and click Set request.
  4. Leave room in your inventory for deliveries and storage space for items the robots take back.

Click an item's icon to edit its amount. Adding the same item again updates its existing request. The checkbox pauses that item, Enable requests controls the whole list, and Remove clears an entry.

E closes the window. Your normal personal logistics pause switch still works.

⚙ Keep the mix steady

The default mode chooses a quality mix when you enter a logistics network, then holds those requests while you stay there.

This means the rare drills you just asked for do not get sent back simply because the stock changed halfway through delivery.

A fresh check happens when you:

  • Leave and re-enter logistics coverage.
  • Enter a different logistics network.
  • Edit the request list.
  • Resume personal logistics.
  • Click Check now.

Leaving coverage pauses the generated requests. Network changes are noticed within about a second.

Robots still refill items you use, but they refill the qualities already chosen. If one of those qualities runs out, the request waits. Click Check now to choose from the stock available at that moment.

If there is not enough stock to fill the total, the missing amount becomes a common-quality request and waits for supply.

⚙ Continuous stock updates

Enable Continuous stock updates if you want your inventory to improve as better stock arrives. Robots can deliver higher-quality items and collect the lower-quality surplus.

This is off by default. With it enabled, a new check can start two seconds after the previous pass finishes. Turning it off lets the current pass finish, then holds the resulting mix.

Use the default mode when you want steady requests while building. Use continuous updates when you want the contents of your inventory to follow the available stock.

⚙ Existing requests and surplus items

The mod creates named Stock quality sections in your personal logistics. Edit those requests through the mod's window. Requests for unrelated items can stay as they are.

Remove or disable other requests for the same item. If a stock check finds an overlap, that item is paused and its status explains the conflict. Click Check now after fixing it.

Each chosen quality gets an exact requested amount. Delivery and collection happen on separate trips, so your inventory can briefly hold more or less than the total you asked for. Robots already carrying something may finish their trip after you pause or remove the request.

If you remove the mod, its Stock quality sections remain ordinary personal requests. Clear those sections if you no longer want them active.

⚙ Large request lists

You can request 1,000 different item types. Asking for 1,000 mining drills still counts as one item on the list.

Checks are spread out at one item per tick across all players. A 1,000-item list takes roughly 17 seconds at 60 UPS, longer when several players have checks running. Requests are applied in small groups as the pass progresses.

In the default mode, stock checks stop once the pass finishes. Only the small network-connection check continues. The mod reads inventory and network counts instead of searching through individual chests.

Continuous updates do more work, especially with large lists. Robot deliveries and collection also add work for the game, so performance depends on the factory and computer.

⚙ If nothing arrives

Check personal logistics research, your logistics pause switch, robot availability and inventory space. The character must be inside logistic coverage; construction coverage alone is not enough.

Items must be in a source that logistic robots can use. An ordinary chest does not supply personal requests. Storage space is also needed for surplus items being returned.

Check the item's status for conflicting requests, then click Check now. In the default mode, better stock waits until the next check before it changes your requested mix.
