Science beakers spoil into thermonuclear detonations after 20 min (adjustable). Lose half your base to scientific hubris! Donate nearly decayed science packs to biter bases! Watch the most nervous spaceship captains in existence ship science packs around! Beautify planets with science craters! Hint:Higher quality science packs take longer to spoil. Note: For performance reasons (total freeze) when stacks of science packs exploding at once, scientific bada booms do not have the same atomic shockwave effects as atomic rockets. We all weep for our loss.

These are my favorite types of mods because of how much headaches they can cause, however, when I see these, my brain also instantly tries to find exploits for them.

I'd like to point out that this gives an easy-ish way, from the start, to drop Science into boxes/ground and leave them for 20 minutes to easily kill Biters nests (because of large radius) especially if if they still explode "dropped on the ground" and not left in chests, because chests can be destroyed by Biters.

My suggestion would be to also add some "mechanic" that makes the Science unstable-ish to be CARRIED by players, so they can't fill cars with it and go park it as a cheap slow-fuse multi nuke.

The main aim of the mod is to create a logistical challenge around science packs (using them fast enough, not overcrafting them, shipping them long distances, etc.)

But let me see if I can do something simple with a new damage type that doesn't affect biters / nests for the exploding science packs.

I'm not a modder so my knowledge is limited, but I have played on a server where we had the Admin that knew a lot, and we had damage settings to stop players doing certain things, so based on what I saw, I think it's possible to just stop damage by "Force" is it not? Setting the damage to only damage the "Player Force" and that would be it.
