The default "crafting" recipe category is meant for handcrafting and assemblers without fluidboxes, so fluids are not allowed as ingredients.
I thought I handled that, but apparently it's not working quite correctly.

I can't seem to reproduce it on my end.
Were you running the game with any other mods? That's the only way I can think of for this to not work.
