Pyanodons Armor Quickstart
Start your Pyanodons factory with a fully equipped heavy armor that does not fly, 50 construction robots, and night vision.
Starter kit
Each player receives:
- 1× Heavy armor in current full Pyanodons.
- 2× Personal roboport MK2 — capacity for 50 construction robots.
- 50× Construction robots
- 2× Exoskeleton equipment
- 1× Night vision equipment
- 1× Belt immunity equipment
- 1× Fuel-free quickstart portable reactor
- 2× Compatible battery buffers
The equipment arrives installed and charged. Newly granted items have normal quality.
With Pyanodons installed, the mod uses native MK01 construction robots and compatible batteries, including nexelit batteries with Pyanodons High Tech.
Why heavy armor?
Pyanodons expands heavy armor to a 6×8 equipment grid. The complete starter kit, including night vision and both batteries, fits in 45 of its 48 cells.
Heavy armor stays on the ground, including when Pyanodons Alternative Energy and Enable All Feature Flags make power armor fly. You still benefit from both exoskeletons for faster walking.
The mod checks the actual equipment grid and flight properties of the available armor. It selects the first suitable non-flying armor that holds the complete kit. If your mod pack has different grids, it can use another non-flying armor. Current vanilla Factorio uses non-flying Power armor MK2.
No existing armor prototypes are changed. Armor you craft later keeps its normal properties.
Fuel-free starter reactor
The dedicated quickstart reactor requires no fuel and retains the installed standard portable reactor’s power output.
It has no crafting recipe. The normal Pyanodons reactor, its recipes, and its fuel requirements remain unchanged.
Keep this mod enabled to retain the custom reactor.
How delivery works
- One starter kit per player, including existing saves and players joining later.
- Automatically equips the starter suit when your armor slot is empty.
- If you already wear armor, the assembled starter suit goes into your main inventory.
- Safely reserves undelivered items when inventory space is unavailable.
- Remembers partial deliveries through saving and loading.
- Rejoining, reloading, dying, or respawning does not grant another kit.
- Does not research technologies or unlock recipes.
Use /py-quickstart to retry a pending delivery or armor exchange. The command does not duplicate completed deliveries or refill equipment.
Updating from version 1.0.0 or 1.1.0
Version 1.2.0 performs a one-time exchange of your existing starter suit for a suitable non-flying armor.
The exchange preserves:
- Supported equipment and each module’s quality.
- Current equipment charge.
- Armor quality and health.
- The exoskeleton movement toggle.
The equipment layout may be rearranged to fit the smaller grid. No additional construction robots or second starter kit are granted.
Keep your starter suit equipped or in your main inventory, and let deployed personal construction robots return.
Heavy armor provides fewer inventory bonus slots than power armor. In current Pyanodons, normal-quality heavy armor has 40 fewer bonus slots than MK1 and 60 fewer than MK2. The exchange waits if occupied inventory slots would be lost. Make room as instructed by the in-game message.
Modified suits containing unsupported extra equipment, fuel inventories, equipment ghosts, or equipment marked for removal remain intact. Resolve the issue and use /py-quickstart to retry.
Version 1.0.0 recipients also receive their one-time night vision upgrade. Partial deliveries retain their progress. Missing or lost starter suits do not trigger free replacements.
