Hey, I thought something that could be nice to have as an option, which is that the next drill in line uses the old drill as an toggle option in the settings

This mod does not create recipes for the drills, it copies the original recipe and replaces the result to be a Resource mining drill. This way it stays true to whichever mods you are using and changes it might make. I believe AAI Industry recipes include the previous drill.

awryt, I thought it could be nice to have a use for the used up burner versions of the resource mining drills

as of now they require the vanilla burner instead of the burner resource mining drill to upgrade from burner to electric and it's that part I thought could be nice to have in as an option. If you get what I mean

With both 2.0 and Space Age, the electric mining drill does not use a burner drill in the recipe. And so the Resource electric mining drill does not. You are kind of stuck with the burner drills. That said, the big drill does use an electric mining drill as an ingredient, and the Resource big drill uses the Resource electric mining drill as an ingredient.

I am not sure why the Resource electric mining drill has the vanilla burner mining drill as in ingredient. Are you using other mods? Maybe one of them is changing the recipe?

I just checked AAI Industry, it changes the recipes of the electric mining drill to use the burner mining drill. I confirmed the Resource electric mining drill uses the Resource mining drill as an ingredient. So if we can figure out which mod is changing the recipe, I can add it as a dependency. And I think then, you will have the recipe you want.

Awryt, Yes I am using a mod that does more or less the same thing as AAI Industry without having the extra burner phase and all the other stuff that adds. to my knowledge so far it only makes inserters and drills require the previous tier. like the electric (yellow) inserters need the burner to craft and the electric drill need the burner drill.
