No Pipe Touching 2.0

This mod alters existing pipes. You will need another mod to add new pipes. Allows you to place pipes of different materials next to each other without them connecting. Designed as a less fancy alternative to advanced fluid handling, without the recipe complexity of flow control.

g [solved] great concept

I thought this was impossible absolutely loving the idea.
I found some bugs tho, could you list the known bugs? the one I found is I could not place pipe between 2 existing system
and it seems there is a feature that turn ghost pipe I placed into solid without consuming item in inventory.

Thank you!
Yeah, I need to create a list of bugs. Both bugs seem unfamiliar to me. Could you describe them in more detail?

That first one is one that I knew about, it's fixed for the next release.
The next two are related bugs, thank you for notifying me

Question: How would you feel if a pipe could not be placed in a way where it was surrounded by pipes it can't connect to? I've attached an example image.

I would say it's an unnecessary addition feature to prevent it from being placed. While it's non sense to place a pipe there, there is still no reason to prevent it either. (well regardless of technical side of thing ofc) If it's any consolation, vanilla factorio let us place underground belt facing each other which serve no purpose what so ever.

thank you for the update!

this is a minor bug but here you go

the adjacent pipes got graphical update even tho they do not connect with the newly placed pipe

would be amazing if this is possible

Yeah, that's not a bug considering how the mod works. No way to change it.

As for pipe weaving: It would be amazing if it was possible. I don't think it is possible in the current Factorio engine, but I'll look into it once this mod is complete with its currently planned features.

Third bug is fixed in 0.1.3.

Question: would it be nicer to have a "clean" look where every pipe has the default name, or would it be better to have "junction" and "elbow" and such for the replacement pipes? Note this would only affect the pipes that are currently called "pipe-npt[12]" and similar.

I'd vote for keeping it clean

thank you for the fix!

when a pipe is in the bot queue for pipe replacement, that pipe's replacement status will be canceled if another pipe is placed next to it either by bot or player.

Shoot sorry i meant the second one

oh the second one.
In the first half of the clip I demonstrated how dragging click normally work for replacing steel pipe with vanilla pipe.
then when I try to do the same with steel pipe it just wont replace the vanilla pipe.

Hm. I see. What mod is the steel pipe from?
