Features
Simple mod that allows the user to customize the weapon slots used by the spidertron, allowing for any combination of weapons, including submachine gun, shotgun, flamethrower, tank cannon, and rocket launcher with only vanilla, and additionally includes tesla gun and railgun when Space Age is enabled. The spidertron will automatically use any and all weapons available when auto-firing upon enemies.
Some combinations are more useful than others (the flamethrower doesn't play well with other weapons, since it swaps away too quickly to be useful), but that's the point of the customizability. Somewhat of a proof of concept mod, since I just wanted to see how the spidertron would use the various other weapons, and allow me to change its loadout on the fly. You could always just fill one of the weapon slots, in which case, it will exclusively use that weapon.
By default, the spidertron uses my preferred (and semi-balanced), 2 submachine gun, 2 rocket launcher loadout.
Settings
- Add a fifth or sixth weapon slot (again, just wanted to see if it was possible, and how it would work)
- Dynamically update the spidertron recipe based on the weapons in its loadout
Limitations
When the shotgun, tank cannon, or railgun (space age exclusive) weapons are selected as part of the Spidertron weapon loadout, the regular versions of those selected weapons will have friendly fire disabled. Otherwise, the Spidertron would damage itself when firing those weapons.
Mod Compatibility
- Portable Hand Cannon - The original tank cannon mod, made exclusively for this mod. Unlocks alongside the Tank vehicle and shares the same graphic.
- snouz's Handcannon mod - This is currently the preferred version of the tank cannon mod, as of v2.0.2, since it adds custom graphics and technologies.
If either mod is enabled, adds their version of the tank/hand cannon weapon to the recipe (if enabled in settings), and adds a requirement to its unlock tech.
Big mod compatibility has not been tested, but since all of the updates are created in the data step, it should be compatible with other big mods that modify base-game recipes, like bobs/angels or Industrial Revolution, but again, this is untested. If you have any issues using this mod alongside other big mods, please post them in the discussion tab, and I will try to address them if possible.
