Spidertron Weapon Loadout

Simple mod that allows user to customize Spidertron's weapon slots. Optionally adds a fifth weapon slot, and dynamically modifies spidertron recipe to require the new weapons.

Features

Simple mod that allows the user to customize the weapon slots used by the spidertron, allowing for any combination of weapons, including a submachine gun, shotgun, flamethrower, tank cannon, and rocket launcher. The spidertron will automatically use any and all weapons available when auto-firing upon enemies.

Some combinations are more useful than others (the flamethrower doesn't play well with other weapons, since it swaps away too quickly to be useful), but that's the point of the customizability. Somewhat of a proof of concept mod, since I just wanted to see how the spidertron would use the various other weapons, and allow me to change its loadout on the fly.

By default, the spidertron uses my preferred (and semi-balanced), 2 submachine gun, 2 rocket launcher loadout.

Settings

  • User can add a fifth weapon slot (again, just wanted to see if it was possible, and how it would work)
  • Dynamically update the spidertron recipe based on the weapons in its loadout (includes compatibility with Portable Hand Cannon, using that item in its recipe instead of a placeholder)

Compatibility

Big mod compatibility has not been tested, but since all of the updates are created in the data step, it should be compatible with other big mods that modify base-game recipes, like bobs/angels or Industrial Revolution, but again, this is untested. If you have any issues using this mod alongside other big mods, please post them in the discussion tab, and I will try to address them if possible.
