Info

Yet another foundry casting extension mod, because I didn't like the options that were available on the mod portal; either they changed too much, too little, or just not what I wanted.

The general ethos is that the new casting recipes should require only iron plate, iron gears, iron sticks, steel plate, and pipe, which are the most basic iron casting recipes.

This notably excludes copper from any potential recipes to be added (there are other foundry casting mods for those who want circuit casting, but I believe any electronics recipes should be exclusive to Fulgora's Electrochemical Plant)

At most, I would considering adding medium and big electric poles (since those only require basic copper wires), but they are also technically craftable in the Fulgora EM Plant already, and I would prefer to avoid overlap.

Features

Adds the following new casting recipes:

  • Yellow/Red/Blue belt (blue belt still requires lubricant)
  • Yellow/Red/Blue underground belt (blue underground belt still requires lubricant)
  • Iron/Steel chest (ignores wood requirement if added to the base recipe by another mod, such as Iron Chest Requires Wood Chest or Upgrade Requires Previous Tier)
  • Storage tank
  • Pump/Offshore Pump
  • Yellow Engine

Modifies the following pre-existing recipes only when the cheaper casting setting is enabled:

  • Iron Stick Casting - Due to the 1:1 molten iron-iron stick conversion ratio, it was more efficient to cast iron plate then craft the iron sticks in assembler with productivity
  • Underground Pipe Casting - This was the original starting point of this mod, because I didn't like the idea of casting into pipe and then casting again into underground pipe, when it should be possible to cast the underground pipe directly

Settings

  • Cheaper Casting Recipes - Enabled by default, reduces the required molten iron amount by 50%, in order to make up for the lost productivity when casting from molten iron directly. When disabled, most recipes use the exact amount of required iron/steel based on their original conversion ratio, but succumb to the same issue that plagues the iron stick casting recipe in vanilla (less efficient to cast directly)
