Krastorio 2 Planet

This mod moves the exclusive Krastorio 2 resources (Imersite, Rare metals and Mineral water) from Nauvis to K2, a new planet between Nauvis and Fulgora. You build your base on Nauvis as usual, and later fly to K2 to set up the Krastorio 2 industry there.

Features

  • A new planet: K2. A barren, dry and stormy world without flora or fauna. Its sands hide rich deposits of Imersite, Rare metals and Mineral water, scattered across a lifeless desert.
  • Resources moved off Nauvis. Imersite and Mineral water no longer generate on Nauvis. Rare metals can stay on Nauvis or be removed too (startup setting).
  • Rocks with Imersite. Violet boulders, rocks and dunes cover the desert. When you mine a boulder, you get some raw Imersite next to the stone.
  • You choose what is made on K2. Three options: Everywhere (only the resources are on K2), Mixed (the Quarry drill, the K2 resource Matter plant recipes, the Superior logistics and the Advanced tech card are K2-only) or Mixed + everything with Imersite (every recipe that uses Imersite is K2-only too). Basic matter recipes (iron, copper, etc.) always work everywhere.
  • Optional extra resources on K2. Water lakes, iron, copper, coal, stone, crude oil and uranium can be turned on one by one, so K2 can be more self-sufficient. All are off by default.
  • A full Space Age planet. Asteroids in orbit (so platforms parked above K2 can collect them), landing and departure animations, clouds, and wind and thunder ambient sounds.
  • New recipes: Advanced imersite processing (imersite powder plus some extra rare metal ore, using steam and nitric acid) and Mineral water filtration (mineral water into clean water).

A violet desert, no extra mods needed

K2 is a violet desert with violet rocks, boulders and dunes. You don't need Alien Biomes or any other graphics mod for it: the ground uses tinted Aquilo snow graphics, and the rocks and dunes are violet versions of the vanilla ones.

From orbit, platforms see K2's own violet surface with stormy clouds below them.

Existing saves: after updating, K2 follows the current mod version and settings in newly generated areas (new rocks, extra resources). Areas that are already generated stay as they are, so if you played with the old Fulgora-based terrain, those parts keep that look.

Startup settings

Setting Default What it does
Where can K2 things be made Mixed Everywhere: nothing is K2-only. Mixed: the Quarry drill, the Matter plant recipes for Rare metal ore, Rare metals, Imersite powder and Mineral water, the Superior belts, undergrounds, splitters and loaders, and the Advanced tech card (with its cooled version) can only be made on K2. Mixed + everything with Imersite: also every recipe that uses raw Imersite, Imersite powder or Imersite crystal.
Remove Rare metals from early (Nauvis) recipes On Removes Rare metals from the Processing unit, Nuclear reactor, Nuclear locomotive and Electric mining drill MK2.
Allow Rare metals on Nauvis On Rare metal ore can still generate on Nauvis. If you turn it off, Rare metal processing becomes a normal research, so you can still reach K2.
Extra on K2: Water / Iron ore / Copper ore / Coal / Stone / Crude oil / Uranium ore Off Each one adds that resource to the K2 planet's map generation. Water appears as lakes and follows the "Water" map setting.

Requirements and compatibility

  • Required: Space Age, Krastorio 2: Spaced Out, PlanetsLib
  • Optional: Imersite-Asteroids for Imersite asteroids on the K2 routes and in K2 orbit
  • Not compatible: Age of Production K2SO Compat
  • Versions: the 2.0 and 2.1 versions are released together with the same features (for example 0.5.4 for Factorio 2.0 and 0.5.5 for Factorio 2.1).
