Tried testing this without any other mods. Game crashes as soon as a gun or laser turret fires.

Same here, playing with Krastorio 2 - had no problems previously, but updated some mods today (did not check what where updated) and have the same error now.

Download 0.1.33 version (1 version older) of HeroTurrets mod, go to C:\Users*change to ur user*\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\mods and put the downloaded .zip file there.
Start the game and there will be no errors.
