Extended Vanilla: Refining

An overhaul to the Vanilla ore processing while maintaining the style and simplicity of Factorio. It adds some new machines that will allow you to boost the yield of plates obtainable from a single iron and copper ore (up to 5x after space science), while coal and steel have their own refinement chain revolved around fuel efficiency. You'll have to progress through 4 tiers of ore processing: base, advanced and elite and ultimate. Compatible with all the Bz Mods and Krastorio2.

The Extended Vanilla Modpack: (Last updated: 20.09.24)

Currently, I have a couple of ideas in my mind, and a name for the "overhaul" - Extended Vanilla: Processing.

It will revolve around intermediates, metal and non-metal processing and general enhancement of Vanilla mechanics.
There will be an impact on the game, but on my vanilla+ philosophy: vanilla textures, "simple" recipe chains that are easy to understand... and a relaxed op lategame to enjoy alone or with your friends.
As it has been back in 0.15 there will be a focus on alloys, taking inspiration from both real and phantasy metals and metallurgy.

I'll make this expansion compatible with the mods I think can revolve around these concepts, like Krastorio and Bz which I'm currently supporting.

Pipelines:

  • No comment. Yeah, I know I should do something for texture sake.

Brevven mods compatibility:

  • Currently this mod works fine and allows you to process and refine many of the Bz ores.
  • The list for now is lead, tungsten, titanium, tin, gold and bz foundry.
  • The refining has different yied depending on the element you're processing.
    (All ratios are displayed in the in game descriptions.)
  • Some variations in the ore processing chains (ex. byproducts) are available in the mod settings.

Krastorio 2 compatibility:

  • Working on this compatibility is not an easy thing if we're talking about balancing, but I've done my best.
  • Currently Iron and Copper are supported and their enriched version too.
  • Rare Metals have a slightly different refinement chain but are supported too.
  • Progression here is less linear but still allows you to arrive in the late stages of the game to triplicate ores.
  • Dirty water and enriched ores are heavily used and almost all the (Ev Refining) mod recipes were changed and adapted.
    (This lets you choose were you want to put that slight extra amount of ore produced.)
  • The additional tiers of Ore crushers, Enriment chambers and Purification chambers are buffed in crafting speed and base productivity.
    (Base speed 2.0x and 3.0x for Mk2 and Mk3 respectively.)
    (Base productivity of 10% and 20% for Mk2 and Mk3 respectively.)

The plates obtained per single ore, considering that 100% 1 ore gives you 1 plate, are the following:

  • Alternative smelting: nearly 50%
  • Base ore processing: 56%;
  • Advanced ore processing: nearly 100%;
  • Elite ore processing: nearly 200%.

Other compatibilities:

  • Ask if you want to, but please, gimme some information on the mods you like as I've probably never played them.
