Extended Vanilla: Refining

An overhaul to the normal ore processings while maintaining the style and simplicity. It adds some brand new machines that will allow you to boost the yeld of plates obtainable from a single iron and copper ore (up to 4x after space science), while the coal refinement chain revolves around fuel efficiency and steel production. You'll have to progress through 3 tiers of ore processing: base, advanced and elite, each one divided in 3 subcategories. Compatible with Bz Mods and Krastorio2.

FAQ

The Extended Vanilla Modpack:

The plan to introduce an overhaul to the game is still there, and I've done some interesting work in the past years, but
by updating this mod to 2.0.0 (it took me 3 weeks, yeah) I realized that there's no meaning in continuing for now.

A new factorio update is coming, and it seems to be really huge:

  • I want to see from a modding view how these different planets can affect your progression.
  • I want to see how the new ORES will change this game. (And possibly add new ways to refine them or enhance the already implemented methods.)

So I'm stopping the development of the "intermediates" section until the update will come out.
Then I'll update this section with my thoughts.

Until then, I'll focus on the already released mods... and on compatibilities: yeah for the first time in this mod development... I'll focus on other mods. (Lmao)
Feel free to ask me in the comment section what mod you would like me to boost.

Pipelines:

  • I hate that assembling machine pipeline on the textures as you do. In the future I should be able to fix that.

Brevven mods compatibility:

  • Currently this mod works fine and allows you to process and refine many of the Bz ores.
  • The entire list for now is: lead, tungsten, titanium and bz foundry.
  • Some variations in the ore processing chains (ex. byproducts) are available in the mod settings.

Krastorio 2 compatibility:

  • Working on this compatibility is not an easy thing if we're talking about balancing, but I've done my best.
  • Currently Iron and Copper are supported and their enriched version too.
  • Rare Metals have a slightly different refinement chain, but are supported too.
  • Progression here is less linear but still allows you to arrive in the late stages of the game to triplicate ores.
  • Dirty water and enriched ores are heavily used and almost all the (Ev Refining) mod recipes were changed and adapted.
    (This lets you choose were you want to put that slight extra amount of ore produced.)
  • The Crusher and Enrichment chamber Mk2 are more important than ever to reach the ore triplication.
    (Base production is boosted to 10% instead of 5% to reward players that reach this stage of the game.)

The plates obtained per single ore, considering as 100% 1 ore gives you 1 plate, are the following:

  • Advanced material processing: almost 50%
  • Base ore processing: 56%;
  • Advanced crushing: 63%;
  • Elite crushing: 66%;
  • Advanced ore processing: almost 100%;
  • Advanced enriching: almost 125%;
  • Elite enriching: almost 150%;
  • Elite ore processing: almost 200%;
  • Advanced purifying: almost 225%;
  • Elite purifying: almost 250%;

Other compatibilities:

  • Just ask, but please, gimme me some information on the mods you like as I've probably never played them.
