An overhaul to the Vanilla ore processing while maintaining the style and simplicity of Factorio. Now compatible and balanced around Space Age. (Inspired from Minecraft's Mekanism mod.)

g How does it play with new Vulcanus tech?

I have been thinking about adding EV: Refining and EV: Mining Drills to my next game.

I wonder how does a tech from this mode plays with the Foundry and Big Mining Drill. I am planning to play SA again.

Are those new buildings somehow balanced and incorporated with buildings from this mod? Or is it that one makes other obsolete or something like this?

Hi mate. Well, let me see, we're talking about 2 months of modding development, so lemme sum up some things for you.

Space age features:

  • Buildings are the same as in the normal non SA Factorio.
  • Technologies adapt to the new tech tree like every other technology of the base game does.
  • Vulcanus is needed for example to research enrichment chambers, and you can choose to produce molten iron and copper instead of ore clumps.
  • Fulgora is needed for Purification chambers, and you need all 3 starting planets (Gleba, Vulcanus and Fulgora) to obtain ultimate ore processing.
  • There are new technologies for crushing and enriching productivity bonuses.
  • Holmium advanced processing is supported as of v3.1.0.
  • Alternative Steel, plastic and rocket fuel recipes support productivity researches.

And as you can imagine, further things are in plan to be released in the future, as I'll be focusing myself on SA Factorio for quite some time I think.
(For mining drills, I'm planning to release multiple tiers of big mining drills, but for now you can have a mk3 to big drill upgrade recipe.)

This is very nice! I will definitely try it out and let you know what I think!

One comment tho is with the basic progression your mod provides: Furnace -> Ore Crushing -> Enrichment Chamber -> Purification Chamber -> ...
Your above reply suggest that the user should go to Vulcanus first than to Fulgora. Whether this might be most popular approach - I actually always go to Fulgora first since I find it easiest planet to build the Rocket Silo on and run away to do other stuff while it is churning scrap.

Well you can count me in, as I also prefer to first go on Fulgora.
The thing is that ore refining to me seems more related to Vulcanus than Fulgora, as there you find foundries and Big drills.
I've tried to balance this with other mods, such as Ev Logistics and Equipment. They're more related to Fulgora tech than to Vulcanus.
