b [CLOSED] Max speed bug?

(updated a month ago)

1): I noticed that the only "quality" this mod has is the health of the train itself (talking about the new "quality" mod from 2.0)--but its charging station does. Why is the (edit: fuel) not benefiting if you took the time to implement the quality mod? or is it inheriting a generic 'crafting station' bonus?

2): I understand that I'm perhaps only using the basic tier of power packs, but my electric train is only going 314 max when its stats say its max is 500.

the power-pack itself says nothing about "max acceleration 70%" or anything, so I kinda feel ripped off. Even if the basic tier of power pack is supposed to only be 70% or something, it should SAY it; thats what the stat lines for "fuel" items are for. unless there's some weird quirk about train physics I don't understand (I only have one cargo to be clear)....or just some weird bug with my save somehow?

thanks however for the mod; it looks better then half the other attempts of "electric trains" even if it feels like its lying to me.

oops, theres a update addressing (1). sorry for missing that.

Hi, thanks for your post.

Yes, you’re right. In 3.0 charging stations support modules and including quality output.

Regarding your max speed issue, the only power packs that affect top speed negatively are alkaline power packs and acceleration experimental power packs.

The packs that have max speed or acceleration modifiers (positive or negative) are represented both in the fuel item and the train when it is running on it. Don’t worry, the mod is not lying to you xD

If you are using the standard rechargeable packs, you should definitely be getting the full 500. Would you be able share both your mod settings, active mods, and exactly which pack you are using?

Hi again, I’ve been playing my save which has quality enabled for the last 4 hours (lol getting legendary power packs and then maintaining them is fun) and all seems in order? I’ll close this one down if I don’t hear back from you in a couple of days :)

Also if anyone is reading this, is this an issue for you?

To confirm, I am using the standard packs.

I was about to check again just to make sure I woulden't be wasting your time (and mine in finding/sending the file) and tested it...

...and its working. did some more thinking on what's changed. I know what it is

tested it with the normal one and its back to 300; switch it back and its 500+ again....

---I was using the normal cargo wagon with the electric locomotive (I thought top-speed isn't impacted by weight unless acceleration is grossly outweighed? its ONE wagon)

sorry; this is on me and my noobism (I guess? I wish there was some formula or way to find out if a train's top speed is being impacted by being over-weight without personally hopping in and testing).

(yes; you can close this)

Haha I see. No worries. Yes, that’s intentional, rolling stock entitities can have a max speed and I chose to keep the normal ones, normal. I’d also like to keep it that way since I’d like electric locomotives and wagons to work together.

Nonetheless, useful experience for others to help troubleshoot!
