g Question on Crush inputs

Hey, really fun mod.
I am very confused on the recipe replacement on the crushed inputs, especially crushed coal. I would expect this mod would replace 1 coal -> 1.5 crushed coal (based on the crushing returns without productivity).

Weird ratios:
Coal liquefaction: 10 coal -> 25 crush (2.5 ratio)
Plastic: 1 coal -> 3 crush (3 ratio)
Explosive: 1 Coal -> 3 crush (3 ratio)
Carbon: 2 Coal -> 4 crush (2 ratio)
grenade: 10 coal -> 10 crush (1 ratio)
molten iron/copper, it takes 75 crush instead of 50 ore, almost making the effective return without crushing moot
Tungsten plate: 4 tungsten ore -> 10 crush (ratio 2.5, The big crusher at this point makes it not as bad)
Holmium solution: 1 stone, 2 holmium ore -> 2 sand, 3 holmium powder (ratio of 2 and 1.5)

could you help me understand your balancing logic here?

Hiya! Yeah the ratios are pushed into the 2-3 range for balance with the big electric crusher. Since the 1:1.5 recipe ratio is compounded with the +50% productivity, so even without prod modules that's effectively a 1:2.25 ratio.

The grenade is an outlier as it's the only recipe where crushed coal is an option, so I wanted the crushed variant to be an objective upgrade.

That said I may reduce the ratio for plastic and explosives back down to 2, so that it's a net loss pre-big crusher but a net gain post-BC.

Right now I am experimenting in the early game and I am burning through coal way faster than normal. I agree with the Big crusher and prod modules it balances out, but I am a good ways away from that.

That's a great data point to hear, I'll definitely reduce the recipes towards the 1.5-2 range. Coal liquefaction and tungsten will remain as they're locked behind Vulcanus when you already have the big crusher, but I'll reduce the ratio for plastic and explosives.
