First of all - thanks! I really love this mod! I waited for such mod to appear for many years and even started making it myself but than abandoned it.
The problem:
Annotations with text plates are way too bulky.
Suggestion 1 - annotation text entity:
Add an entity that just allows writing some text inside CC.
When you click on it, the dialog is shown where you can enter title and description.
The title is then should be rendered the same way you render titles for connection poles.
Description can be rendered when you hover mouse over it.
Suggestion 2 - connection port highlight and description
- Add description textbox to connection pole
- When hovering over io port - highlight it's signals in left top popup with a frame or with some color
- The description can be shown on hover where in left top popup window where you render signals, but only when you hover mouse over that port
