It would be really nice if we could tell at a glance the difference between vanilla undergrounds and belt layer connectors. I propose coloring the unpainted areas (grey in vanilla) to a brighter/shiner silver, for a chrome or stainless steel look. This way they would be easily recognized as undergrounds by the standard shape, but also easily distinguished by the "shinier" metal. Also it's an easy change. =)
