Autobarreling mod is marked as incompatible not just for technical reasons, but also intentionally.
It was originally created to work around some old issues with Pelagos, like name conflicts and limitations of the wooden platform. Those problems have already been fixed. Entity names are now free to use, and the wooden platform accepts any item in the “barreling-machine” fast-replaceable group.
The bigger issue for me is how this mod works. It changes the behavior of my machines in a way that isn’t obvious to the player, which can be confusing. Especially since these machines are part of the planet’s progression and are used for more than just basic barrels.
I actually had someone tell me the machines felt useless, and it turned out they were playing a modpack where this mod was included by default. So their experience of my content was worse because of changes I didn’t design or intend at all. It's not like they are too usefull. But because it was mandatory addition to all 3 of my machines they were not even close to use them as intended.
That’s why I don’t see a reason to support mods that override intended behaviour. From my point of view, it just makes them work worse.
If you want different behavior, you can just make machines that work in the way you want and use them.
I took my time, and I’ve made changes specifically to make that possible.
