Assault Spidertron


A more versatile alternative to the standard Spidertron. It features enhanced durability and a reworked arsenal: replacing three of its original four rocket launchers with a flamethrower, a machine gun, a small-caliber cannon, and a high-caliber main cannon that fires artillery shells. One rocket launcher remains as part of its default configuration. Additional customization options, including early unlocks, engine choices, and configurable weapon systems, make it a highly adaptable combat unit.

g Didn't like the revamped stats

As the tittle says, I didn't like the revamped stats or the new recipe...

I think the Flamethrower + Machine Gun + Cannon are good enough.

IMO, this Assault Spidertron should act as a precursor for the vanilla Spidertron and a direct upgrade for the Tank, available and buildable with Nauvis resources only.

So, consuming Fuel should be also brought back to keep balanced with this.

IIRC, the only "issue" with the original version was that it was too cheap to build.

Well, that's my opinion.

While I personally have a different perspective on how the mod should function and evolve, I do understand your points about balance and the relationship to the vanilla Spidertron and Tank. Your suggestion to reintegrate Fuel consumption is particularly interesting and gives me something to think about.

Another idea would be to have 4 linked Machine Guns instead... it would work like the Vanilla Spidertron, but instead of firing 4 rockets simultaneously, it fire 4 Machine Guns simultaneously and instead of infinite fuel, it requires fuel.

I didn't mention stats, but yeah, it should be a bit weaker than the Vanilla Spidertron stats.

Oh, I totally forgot to tell you—you can do exactly that now! You can equip it with 4 Machine Guns if you like (or 4 Flamethrowers, or, or...).

The auto weapon cycle is also configurable in the Mod Settings.
