Because Factorio must teach everyone of us to be optimized - so I'm suggest next:
Is there ability to create some base masks of biomes and then apply unique R:G:B biome-settings to each set of masks?
I mean that FOR EXAMPLE ==
mineral-aubergine-sand-1.png
mineral-beige-sand-1.png
mineral-black-sand-1.png
mineral-brown-sand-1.png
mineral-cream-sand-1.png
mineral-dustyrose-sand-1.png
mineral-grey-sand-1.png
mineral-purple-sand-1.png
mineral-red-sand-1.png
mineral-tan-sand-1.png
mineral-violet-sand-1.png
mineral-white-sand-1.png
== this textures contains the same graphics but their only difference is colorisation/hue mask.
So 12 files need to be converted to 1 unified mask with 12 settings ond so on.
Of course you know that this suggestion at least SIGNIFICANTLY reduce system reqirements (especially on low-end PC's) and size of mod and improve game load time.
