Alien Biomes


A collection of additional biomes: Snow, Volcanic, Crater, various colors of Dirt, Sand and Grass. Includes new tree and decorative variants. There are planet controls in the mod options. V3 is a complete rebuild, starting a new map is advised, but there is a terrain regeneration option that will preserve parts of your base. HR Terrain Textures are in a separate mod.

i greed, also put in settings that would have been low all - still not enough terrain one

Yes this would be great, i think they are too small on a map with RSO. Or are the biome sizes dependent on RSO settings? Because i changed some settings and now it looks better.

Which settings in RSO did you change? Would love to do so for my campaign too.

The biome distribution is based on Factorio's internal water and temperature maps, which are scaled based on the water segmentation setting. I have not found a way of increasing the size other than that (adding custom noise layers seems to always be stuck at MUCH smaller scales).

Perhaps region_size in RSO scales everything including water segmentation?
