i Suggestion for how the multiple weapons problem could be dealt with

Just a curiosity, would it be possible to make it so the AI could use weapons, but based off an input signal?
Basically, either a general signal, or a weapon signal for that specific vehicle (or maybe even a signal for a specific weapon type, but that would only be useful in specific cases along with above), sent into the controller so that that vehicle would use only that one so long as the signal is applied

and example:
a combinators output = (Weapon signal /or/ tank_weapon signal), value = 1
Result = Tank using cannon (as usual)

but, if the signal value is 2, than the tank uses the machine gun instead
(and a value of 3 of course would make it use the flamethrower)

I hope I've explained this well enough and I hope it makes sense!

No, it's a design decision. If you want a vehicle with lots of weapons then there are other mods for that.
