g [Resolved] Any plans for 2.1 update?

Any plans for a version 2.1 update? I just love this mod and hate the idea of playing without it. In any case, thanks for making a cool mod that has brought me much entertainment.

Is there a problem in 2.1?

Even though I don't play Factorio much these days I figure someone will submit a bug report if the mod breaks.

The mod info manifest needs to be specifically updated to declare 2.1 compatibility, otherwise the in-game mod manager won't let you load the mod if you're on the experimental 2.1 branch. I don't know for sure if any there were any breaking changes to the modding API that would effect this mod, so it might be as simple as just updating the mod info and pushing that new version to the mod portal.

@dgw I can make a pull request for you if you want. There are some breaking changes in 2.1 and mods need to be manually updated.

Oh I see you're already on it

@zooqooo I forget that Factorio has two version-constraint fields and base>=2.0.0 isn't enough to say "I work with 2.1 too". But it turns out that no, it didn't work in 2.1 without changes.

@snouz yeah I went looking through changelogs a bit and downloaded 2.1.9 to test.

I got the mod loading again and made sure logistic robots visually go to roughly the right location on both warehouse & storehouse buildings. Circuit wire connectors look at least close enough to 2.0 that I can't tell a difference.

Would help me a lot if folks in this thread (snouz, Ruindar, zooqooo, plus anyone else still interested) could test out the changes. I will upload a test build to the pull request here: https://github.com/Warehousing/Warehousing/pull/127

I love this mod, and I wish to be updated to 2.1 version. Is anyone working on it ?

I saw the changes merged on github, can we get a release for 2.1 at some point? This is one of the the few mods that keep me from switching to 2.1 fully.

Hello,

While 2.1 is officially released i made a fork and introduced few optimization/improvements
Feel free to check it here https://mods.factorio.com/mod/warehousing-enhanced

Where is your source code?

Codex is drunk on something. There is no "custom recurring updater" to replace for handling circuit requests in our version of Warehousing; for the last time, they are just big containers that use the same core logic as base game chests.

More to the point: Last action on our side was me suggesting some changes to Anoyomouse's tech updates. I don't know what you're talking about 2.1 being "officially released" as it's still experimental. My own goal has been to release a new version by the time 2.1 goes stable, or just after. Can't speak for Anoyomouse.

Wrote too fast and wanted to mention that this original mod was not "officially" released for 2.1, there is code in available here https://github.com/Warehousing/Warehousing/pull/127 but no official package. sorry for that

regarding the updater, this was in my first dirty attempt to port it to 2.1. it was never published anywhere. Corrected description

Source code will be added soon to github.

First-party release for 2.1 is up, btw.

Still unclear on what the "Warehousing Enhanced" enhancements are, beyond 2.1 compatibility. Hopefully we don't have user confusion because of this… The list of "Other improvements" in its description sounds like mostly stuff the mod already had.
