Huh, I haven't seen your reddit post before. Really, Spatial Samba was inspired by using AE2's Spatial IO for automation, rather than it existing as this niche novelty. That said, there are some differences between this and your idea. Here, a Spatial Cell can be loaded as long as you want, it's just that you have to build inside Spatial Cells, while with your idea, islands are connected for a set amount of time. Not to mention, it seems like you have more control over the shape of each platform, while with Spatial Samba, it's always 16x16. Still, neat idea!
