i [Solved] Trains

Hello!
I propose to make changes for such an entity as trains, that is, to create a separate subgroup for them, right after the usual one.
In the game and other mods, they are divided into 2 main types: Regular locomotive - Electric train, that is, the train either burns some fuel or consumes electricity from various sources.. And it would be good to separate them from each other, as is done with other transport.

The train items now already have their own separate vehicles-railway subgroup. (More details in FAQ.)

In the game and other mods, they are divided into 2 main types: Regular locomotive - Electric train, that is, the train either burns some fuel or consumes electricity from various sources.. And it would be good to separate them from each other, as is done with other transport.

In both vanilla and in this mod, train items are in the same subgroup, without dividing into any types.

Are you actually suggesting more than one subgroup for train items?
If so, can you provide finer definitions, like suggestions on the new subgroup names?

Yes sir, I suggest dividing them by train type.
The main subgroup of venikl-rail-way is divided into 2, which go in order, one after the other:
1. vehicles-rail-way-electric
2. vehicles-rail-way-regular

This will look great, and certainly no worse than cargo ships or various tanks.

This sounds reasonable, I will add the new subgroup in the next release.

Yet I have a question, is there a reason you want the "electric" subgroup comes first, while the "regular" one next?
I ask this because in this game, most (if not all) items of the same category will have the basic ones come first, while the more advanced or better ones come after.
For example:

burner mining drill → electric mining drill
stone furnace → steel furnace → electric furnace

I have not played much with those mods, but I wonder if electric locomotives are supposed to be more advanced than "regular" locomotives in those mods?

There are no reasons, I just listed them in alphabetical order :)
(Thought) But if you approach it from a technical point of view, then electric traction is more advanced, since it has high input parameters of the consumption resource.
For example, any electric car accelerates to 100 km/h faster than a regular gasoline or diesel car. Or another example, all over the world electric trains are much faster (and more convenient) than regular locomotives on traditional fuel, what can I say, in China or Japan an electric train accelerates very quickly to 300-350 kilometers per hour!

Alright! ;-)
So I will make the electric ones come later in the tab, as they are (supposedly) more advanced ones.

The current plan is:
The current vehicles-railway (order "b") subgroup already represents the regular train vehicles, so I guess no need to change anything?
A new vehicles-railway-electric (order "b-1") subgroup will be created. It will be right next after.
Does this sound okay to you? Any further changes needed?

Excellent!
No, no other changes are required, thank you!

Just released 1.1.2 / 2.0.2, which included the above changes.
Now you and others can move things into the subgroup, without the need to create it yourself.
