I am using Factorio version 0.16.51 with mod version 0.2.3. I created a new world with no other mods to test in.

Bots will not place "rail electric pole" (also no capitalization)
Save and reload and all poles stop connecting
Only one Locomotive on each train receives energy from the rails

The rails are kind of ugly, would it be possible to remove the wires and just use a third rail in the center, or tint them a different color. When rails are close they jump to non connected rails.

I like the idea of the mod and I'm surprised no one else made a similar mod. It would be so useful if the glitches were worked out.

Ok, let see:
- Bots will not place "rail eletric pole"-->Ok, I'll have a look at it
-Save and reload and all poles stop connecting--> Already raised by someone on the forum. I am supposed to look at it, but it looks quite complexe (I don't know if it comes from me or the game itself, I need time for it).
- Only one locomotive on each train--> Actually, only one kind of locomotive, fixed in the next version
- Rails are ugly-->Yes they are! I don't want to loose so much time with it, as I am not a designer (No, I am not kidding...). Some people nicely provided better graphics, and I was happy to include them and refer to those guys. If you want to change the look of the rails, I'll be glad to include them.
- When rails are closed, they jum to non connected rails--> Don't know what you talk about. Can you give a proper example?
- I'm surprised no one else made a similar mod--> Seriously? There are many mods about electric trains. Mine has the specificity to connect rails to poles, and to dispatch signals as well. But to programm the electric part, I was inspired by Senpais, for instance (Myny thanks to him, by the way!)

However, I really appreciate the comments, and do my best to resolve every issue. As you notice, I have other mods as well that need to be fixed (I have no patience to test... sorry guys!). But every help for that is welcomed :D

To clarify, when 2 sets of rails are very close together, like in a Celtic knot, the red and green wires will jump from tracks that are near each other, but not directly connected.

I think your execution of the hybrid train is the best, and there are no other mods that allow the tracks to carry electricity, Senpais has it as a planned feature.

I looked through the mod graphic files and they look like they have third rail already, I guess i just couldn't see it under the red and green wires maybe.

How's the progress going here? I just recently discovered this mod and definitely like the idea of the rails being used in place of distant poles, although the graphics is left to be desired. Wires shouldn't be rendered anywhere on the rails as they'd be under the bed or alongside the 3rd-rail anyway, and even where poles are connected to the rail as the pole should have fixed wire graphics akin to stations. I the updated graphics file is nolonger available so I cant check it myself, but you said it's already been added to the next update?

I appreciate your honnesty (seriuosly, I do!) as my grafics are quite ugly. Yes, it has been updated for the next version, thanks to some nice grapfic designers! As for the progress, I am stucked with some code, and restricted to program only on weekend, so, it moves slowly. Sorry for that. I do my best to deliver the next version, ASAP
For the wires, I am unfortunately not in control, those are automatically generated by the core game. My only solution would be to multiply the inside nodes, with the risk to make the mod quite heavy. I'd rather have those little wires, and hopefully, th game developers will let us hide them.
