Title says it all. I installed the mod and now I get a constant heavy load from this Mod. I am willing to post a save somewhere or to post the IP of the server for Investigation.
No. I mean, do you have the option enabled to allow the equipment to be placed in vehicle grids? On the latest version of it, it's got BETA next to it. It doesn't work very well and causes the UPS issues you're talking about. Make sure you CANNOT put the item in non-player grids and see if you still have the issue.
Aight, well lets try and break this down then. You say you get a 'constant heavy load' are you referring to your UPS in general, or your CPU usage, or something else entirely?
Loaded up my current factory and I'm getting 1.2. Which is rather high compared to some of the other mods I've got running but significantly less than what you've got going. Do you have a lot of people on your server? How big is the factory?
Honestly I'm not sure what exactly I'll need to do to increase performance. I know the mod has some performance issues with how it's setup, but I'm not the one who originally wrote the code and my attempts to try to rewrite the logic in a more correct/optimal way have been less than successful. (Which is why the vehicle code is in beta). I'll see what I can do though.
It's usually just me and 1 friend and the factory is a little large, if it helps I can give you a save file for the world. But it has a lot of other mods, and now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if it's your mod's fault for it's high usage.
I know it's been a while, but I managed to get a little performance update out. 0.1.17+ has a setting for modifying the update ticks. Changing that from 1 to 2 has huge performance gains without seemingly any changes. Hope that helps for now.
Ended up on a roll. Got another new version out now. XD From my simple tests on my SE file, it got about a 30% performance improvement. I'm not sure how much more I can really optimize it at this point, so hopefully this works.
