What does this do ?

Alone, nothing ! This is like a music album, but you need the music player first : https://mods.factorio.com/mod/PI-house-made-music

Then it adds the music as game music and / or as instrument for the speakers !

Why ?

This way you can select your favourite "album" for each game, and when i publish a new song or a new album or try to make the music player better, you don't have to redownload everything.

No why this album ?

If you are curious to hear an AI sing ? otherwise it's not recommended for now, it's just the first song of the album, it's new, but later i will probably move here the existing Bhangra song from the other album for consistency :)

List of songs :

  • 1-Hey my friend take a moment to relax ( 4 min 28 sec) [Gleba]

Genre : Bhangra with influences from Raï
    Inspiration : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaKVXeVysho
Comment : This song is for relaxing and smiling, in my head everybody does that , it's energetic ( previous version was even faster ! ) and not serious unlike the outside world, it's for dancing or at least moving the head to show you're following along if you are playing the game. This song is not for when you do combinators, this song is for when you have to plant the trees in that little small patch, and it doesn't fit well, and you'be been trying to fit the more agicultural tower for quite some times, and this tells you to relax and chill it's okay if there's 1 less tree, it will look nice, don't go mad too long. There's a bit of a dramatic tone that can be heard hopefully, i wanted to mimick a bit of the desperation in the expression of love in the song from inspiration. I believe there's a princess in every Gleba player, lonely in front of their computer, weaving their belts as if threading a needle in isolation driven by the deep reflexion about spoilage and stompers, waiting for a savior with some kind of blueprint , a big spidertron or some ideas with robots, they just don't often realize it, it's a shame, the world would be more peaceful. ( The lyrics don't say all that but you can imagine no ? i don't understand punjabi, sometimes i imagine what the lyrics says before looking them up, and i'm sure that's the same for some players on Gleba )

  • 2-Hey my friend 2 ( 3 min 24 sec) [Gleba]

Genre : Bhangra with influences from Raï
Inspiration : the Bhangra part is similar to previous song, it's the 2nd version, but i wanted more Raï influences like in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtaocLD4K7Q or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1UQ1c5jOZY
Comment : This song is energetic and celebratory,as an constrasting answer to the intro . It was made using AIs, trying to get something that would convey the feeling of resilience i found in the inspiration song which i listened to a lot while farming some repetitive things in MMORPG when i was younger. Later when i was 20 maybe, young french student i spent time in a recording studio and was lucky enough to meet many experienced musicians and singer from all over the world and to discuss with them, amongst many other thing, there's one i remember in particular, we discussed about people's origin, and how it relates to their music, and more generally the culture, because that was related to things i was studying at school. There was this saying quite comon amongst other students, and teachers that "in business nobody cares where you come from". Which was meant to say that the important is the business, the product you're selling, which would be the "music" in this case. But often time for the people making the music it was quite horrifying to hear, because their music is a way to explain their origin or their culture and what they like or how they feel about life. It was the basis for many fruitful discussions that made me more mindful of the very narrow exposure to different music genre from usual commercial radios and other impact of the industry in the diffusion of the culture. I don't know why i like Bhangra like that, it may not even be proper bhangra, with AI you can ask to mix several genre that are not usually mixed maybe because that would mean 2 different cultures that have only very little ties historically. It resonate with my emotions, makes me positive and happy, energetic too, all that is required for tackling Gleba :) Hopefully it makes you feel like you are the main character of an indian movie with the over the top extra special effects, or make you want to feel this way in Gleba !
