Introduction
Having a hard time finding items in your inventory? Wish there was an easier way?
Now there is - with this mod, all placeable items in your inventory will be shown at the top of your inventory in filtered slots.
But that's not all! Items which are in any of your quickbars will not be shown in this way. You already know where they are, they're on your quickbar.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. Items that you set inventory filters for yourself will also not be given slots by this mod. That way, you can always find those special items in the place that you wanted it to be at.
Hoo boy, can you believe it? THAT. IS. NOT. ALL. You can set a limit in player-specific mod settings to prevent too many of the same item getting filtered! No more triple rows of concrete at the top of your inventory.
How to use
You need to set a filter in your inventory for this mod to work. The filtered item can be either a deconstruction planner or a fish. The mod will not set or clear inventory slot filters past the point of this filter, so you can reserve some space for construction robots or other things that you want to find at the bottom. If you don't have the filter configured, then once per save/load cycle the mod will send a message in chat to remind you.
This mod USED to have issues working when your inventory was really full. As of 1.0.4, this is only a problem for the most sick and twisted factorio gamers. With the filter set on the bottom or second-to-bottom rows of your inventory, you are unlikely to ever notice this mod not working!
Any filters you want to set manually in your inventory (such as construction robots) MUST be farther down in the list than the fish/planner filter. This mod won't mess with anything you set after that point, but anything BEFORE that point can and will be reset regularly. I typically put the planner at the start of the last row, and the other things I filter for on the following spaces of that row.
Etc
One of two mods I can guarantee you that I will never again play without, the other being Easy Logistic Configuration.
Inspired by Placeables - whose concept I loved but wished existed in the base-game inventory screen.
