A very small IR3 addon that uses Call a Plumber's API to restrict what fluids each IR3 pipe might transport.
Originally meant to patch in Deadlock898's original concept for air pipes (aka gases can't be transported in regular pipes, steel gas pipes must be used). The mod expands on it by restricting how molten metals can be transported too.
WARNING: Installing the mod on an existing save file is not recommended, as previous gas/molten metal factories will be broken!
This mod is only compatible with the patched 2.0 version of IR3.
Features
- Pipes of any kind will burst if they receive incompatible fluids. (Dependency: Call a Plumber's API)
- Regular pipes can no longer transport gases nor molten metals. They can only safely handle temperate liquids.
- Air pipes are renamed "gas pipes". They aren't restricted to compressed air anymore.
- Gas pipes cannot handle liquids, but will carry gases just fine.
- Gas pipes have a shorter underground length (10 tiles) and pipeline extent (160 tiles) compared to regular pipes (15 tiles ; 320 tiles)
- Gas pipe are crafted with steel parts.
1 steel plate ; 1 gas pipe ;
+ 1 steel rivet ; + 1 steel gear ; 10 gas pipe ; 5 gas pipe
= 1 gas pipe ; = 1 gas valve ; = 2 underground gas pipe ; = 2 short underground gas pipe
- A new tier of pipe is necessary to move molten metals: carbide pipes
- Carbide pipes can handle regular liquids too, but not gases.
- Carbide pipes have the same underground length and pipeline extent as regular pipes. (Alternatively, only short underground carbide pipes are available)
- Carbide pipes are crafted using steel and silicon carbide.
1 silicon carbide brick ;
+ 2 steel plate ; 1 carbide pipe ;
+ 1 steel rivet ; + 1 steel gear ; 15 carbide pipe ; 5 carbide pipe
= 1 carbide pipe ; = 1 carbide valve ; = 2 underground carbide pipe ; = 2 short underground carbide pipe
- For ease of design, tanks and pumps can store any kind of fluid.
- To avoid accidents, pipes of different types will not connect to eachother directly. (Dependency: No Pipes Touching)
They can still connect to storage tanks, pumps and any kind of valve.
Compatibility
Compatibility options might be added if requested, at my discretion.
Known Issues
- Call a Plumber does not recognize "valve" entities, thus they can't burst yet. (Might need to write a custom fix.)
