Hello!
Thank you for taking ownership of the mod! I wondered today if it's still a thing, and pretty cool to see people are still using it, and contributing... I hope it wasn't too bad keeping this mess running hehe
It was pretty much a breeze maintaining through Factorio 1.x version, little tweak here, little tweak there, but in Factorio 2.0 there were some significant breaking changes, like the camera completely broke, so the remote was broken for like ever. That with a ton of help from KingJo it finally got resolved.
Back in the day a guy called "zumf" from the UK offered to make new 3D models. We had 3 variants planned but I think my frequent change requests were too annoying so only the scout model got done. I didn't want to include it back then before I somehow finished the other two models but safe to say that's not going to happen now. It's a shame for all the time zumf put in. Well, maybe you would be interested in the scout now? It's a nice model, imho it fits the game much better than that russian attack helicopter. We tried to achieve a similar look to the rest of the game.

There are even assembled sprite sheets in there, but I can't tell you if they are good to go. This was many years ago.
Oh, I remember someone actually posted a link to your discussion within my comments, but I didn't pay too much heed to it because, well... there were other things to fix beforehand...
But looking at the patched heli inside of the provided zip doesn't seem that hard to put in... If you managed to notice, the current images were upscaled across the mod., so those sprites should follow suit as well.
And man, Kumpu actually commented on this fork... Actually, I should thank you for licensing the mod under MIT so I could keep it alive and well. I enjoyed your mod so many years ago, and I knew I had to do something when I saw the updates had stopped, so here we are...
And to be honest, I still can't wrap my mind around some of your crazy math c:
Take care!
