Mods introducing new content into the game.
Version: 0.1.15
Date: 2026-08-23
Changes:
- Circuit output now publishes each chip tier's buffered count as its own item signal (copper / steel / uranium) instead of one total under the copper icon; the staked-item presence signal moved to the next slot. Rewire anything that read the copper signal as a grand total.
- Machine window: lifetime counters are thousands-grouped; the odds panel shows dashes when the stake is already max quality.
- Loaded Dice research card now shows its effect description; The House requires Uranium processing so the uranium chip recipe is never unlocked before uranium-238 is reachable.
Optimizations:
- Large casino floors are much cheaper per tick: intake scans are staggered (every 5 ticks per machine), empty intakes are skipped, and prototype checks / the quality chain are cached. 100 busy machines: ~1.6 ms/tick -> ~0.3 ms/tick.
Bugfixes:
- Hidden companion entities are now hidden from Factoriopedia and entity browsers and carry proper names.
Version: 0.1.14
Date: 2026-08-23
Changes:
- Machines now spin on staggered ticks (each keeps its interval, phases spread by machine), so a casino floor no longer fires every spin and every win sound in lockstep; a High Roller batch plays one win sound however many units won.
- The first stake fed by inserter into an unfiltered machine sets the stake filter (and alt-mode icon), exactly like a hand deposit.
- Machine window: the pause button is now "Machine: running/paused" (it was mislabelled as a circuit toggle), the spin-cost line shows the x4 High Roller price that the status line already used, the High Roller button reads "on (circuit)" when signal-H forces it, and the stake-filter picker hides items the house can never take and explains refusals.
- Player-facing text uses proper item and quality names instead of internal ids, value-band names are localised in the entity status, and chip needs read "Need 5 x Copper casino chip".
Bugfixes:
- Loaded Dice pity no longer downgrades a jackpot rolled fairly on the pity spin to a +1; pity only upgrades a loss. /casino-simulate mirrors the fix.
Version: 0.1.13
Date: 2026-08-22
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a script error (introduced in 0.1.11) the first time a machine refused an inserter-fed stake item: the refusal notice compared against an undeclared constant, which would have stopped all casino spins until the save was reloaded.
Version: 0.1.12
Date: 2026-08-22
Bugfixes:
- The alt-mode stake-filter icon drawn over a machine could stick after the filter was cleared: every mod update re-registered machines without removing the previous icon, leaving an orphan sprite. The rebuild now removes it, and existing orphans are swept on load.
Version: 0.1.11
Date: 2026-08-22
Changes:
- Science packs (and ammo) can now be staked when fresh: a full-durability pack or full magazine loses nothing in the reroll, so the house takes them. Partly used ones are still refused.
- The machine window now shows a lifetime "Items upgraded" count next to spins and jackpots, so a machine whose results are pulled straight out by an output inserter (and whose stake a belt keeps topped up) visibly does work.
Bugfixes:
- A refused stake item was silently moved to the output, which looked like inserters feeding the wrong chest. The machine window and entity status now say which item was refused and why for ten seconds after it happens.
Version: 0.1.10
Date: 2026-08-22
Graphics:
- New casino chip icons: proper clay poker chips with cream edge spots, a riveted metal inlay ring and an embossed star medallion, each cast in its tier metal (copper, brushed steel, glowing uranium). Generated source art, archived in graphics/source and built through the asset tool.
Version: 0.1.9
Date: 2026-08-22
Bugfixes:
- Inserters can now feed chips and stakes into a Slot machine or Grand Casino from ANY side and pull results from any side. Previously only the west column was an intake and the east column was the result buffer, so chips fed from the east (or the right-hand column from north/south) landed in the output and were pulled straight back out.
- The stake slot now behaves like a real inventory slot: clicking it with a matching item stack tops the pending stake up (one stack max), a different item swaps with the stake and returns it to your hand, and inserters keep the stake topped up instead of waiting for it to run dry.
Changes:
- The two hidden per-side intake chests were merged into one intake (stake slot + three chip-tier slots). Existing saves migrate automatically, including anything sitting in the old intakes.
Version: 0.1.8
Date: 2026-08-12
Graphics:
- The slot machine's three reels now visibly spin while the machine is working: neon symbol drums scroll with motion trails and staggered phases, then fade back to the painted static symbols when the machine stops.
Version: 0.1.7
Date: 2026-08-12
Features:
- The Golden Tank: an uncraftable solid-gold trophy tank, paid out alongside roughly 1 in 100 jackpots (new "Golden Tank chance" startup setting; 0 disables). Identical firepower to a regular tank — the flex is the paint job. Its arrival is announced force-wide with a map ping, and /casino-stats counts tanks driven off the lot.
Version: 0.1.6
Date: 2026-08-12
Features:
- House comps: the quality of the gambling machine itself now improves spin odds. Each machine quality tier shifts 5% of the win weight from no-change into the win results (legendary = ~20% better win odds at the same spin price). Configurable via the new "Machine quality comps" startup setting; set to 0 to disable.
- The machine window's odds panel notes the active comp bonus on above-normal-quality cabinets; the displayed percentages already include it.
Version: 0.1.5
Date: 2026-08-09
Features:
- Jackpot alerts now show the winning item's icon at its rolled quality and a clickable map ping that jumps to the winning machine.
- /casino-stats now reports the house's lifetime take: chips burned per tier.
- The machine window's odds panel flags the charged chip in red when the buffer cannot cover the next spin.
- Added /help descriptions for /casino-stats and /casino-simulate.
- Alt-mode now shows each machine's stake-filter item icon, like an assembler showing its recipe.
- Depositing a stake into an unfiltered machine auto-sets the stake filter so inserter automation works immediately.
- Added a legend tooltip to the recent-spins ticker and a gold pity bar when Loaded Dice is primed.
Bugfixes:
- Fixed inserters silently stalling on most Grand Casino edge tiles: hidden I/O chests now span the full input and output edges on both machines, so every west-edge tile accepts stakes or chips and every east-edge tile serves results.
- Fixed automated output extraction, which never worked on either machine: inserters waiting on a casino always targeted the machine shell instead of the hidden result buffer. Output inserters are now aimed at the result buffer automatically on build, rotation, and when loading existing saves.
Version: 0.1.4
Date: 2026-07-14
Features:
- Added world fast-transfer loading: Ctrl-click casino machines with chips and sweep across multiple machines without reopening the inventory stack.
- Added four-direction neon sign rotation with a horizontally and vertically symmetrical design.
Changes:
- Renamed the public-facing mod title to Quality Casino: The House Always Wins.
- Removed the casino spotlight and its recipe, entity, art, and technology unlock before public release.
- Reduced release packages to runtime files, player documentation, and licensing metadata.
Graphics:
- Enlarged the neon sign within its selection box and kept every rotated variant inside its footprint.
- Adjusted slot-machine art to remain inside its gameplay footprint.
Bugfixes:
- Preserved buffered stakes, chips, outputs, machine settings, counters, and recent results when a mod configuration change rebuilds hidden companions.
- Returned all buffered casino contents when a loaded machine is mined or destroyed instead of silently deleting them.
Version: 0.1.3
Date: 2026-07-07
Bugfixes:
- Fixed GUI output-slot pickup downgrading upgraded casino wins back to normal quality.
- Fixed jackpot effects crashing Factorio 2.0.77 with an invalid flying-text entity.
Version: 0.1.2
Date: 2026-07-07
Features:
- Reworked casino machine windows into native-looking slot grids with cursor-based item movement.
- Added a stake item picker that filters the hidden stake input chest for automation.
- Added release packaging assets for closed-alpha testing.
Graphics:
- Adjusted slot machine and casino mint sprite placement so art stays inside the gameplay footprint.
Bugfixes:
- Removed GUI deposit and withdraw buttons in favor of chest-like slot interactions.
- Kept diffuse and glow layers aligned after sprite scale and shift adjustments.
