Armoured biters have too low pollution cost (balance). They are clear upgrade from regular biters, therefore they should have higher pollution_to_join_attack value. It's quick fix, just do new_biter.pollution_to_join_attack *=2, or even *=3 as small snapper is taking up to 3* more bullets compared to small biter.
I like this mod a lot! It's very simple and cool compared to other biter mods (rampant/bob's). But it forces me to lower difficulty settings, as right now deathworlds with armoured biters tend to be a bit insane : ) mod is making bullet economics totally different. Cleaning pollution with bullets get unviable already 50% biter attacks cost and with vanilla settings it's possible to play on 30, or even 20% biter attack cost*.
* I roughly estimated production of 1 mag to cost 2.06 pollution (on electric miners and asm-1 and boilers for power) Small biter trades 0.4 mag for -4(*0.2) pollution, so 20% biter attack cost is equalibrium in vanilla (+0.8 for -0.8). At 20% pollution attack cost, you can't brute-force through pollution cloud, but you can spread base, research stuff (bullet dmg-1 ftw), so it's still possible to play.
With small snapper you need 13-15 bullets, therefore playing this mod on deathworld might be as hard as playing vanilla deathworld 20% cost, while playing this mod on "default" might be as hard as deathworld - at we have bad luck of spawning next to armoured biter nest.
