Maybe to have track that is fully immune to spitter damage, some form of mostly buried track (Think of tram lines in cities, where the parallel rails are sunken underneath road level, this would make a distinct visual look), add to that using galvanized steel, steel + zinc (Zinc isn't vanilla, so maybe plastic bar instead? Just to make it more resource heavy) for the rails.
