Could be I am doing something wrong, but I have not gotten the game to prohibit me from building on ore. Have tried with both the "enable custom difficulty" settings enabled and disabled.
No, I am confusing myself, there is definitely something wrong in regards to which entities can be placed on the ore. It feels like the setting mentioned above does nothing.

Will double check that now, that's a pretty severe bug I didn't catch.
