Gleba tweaks
Configurable tweaks for Gleba. Expand your farming options with more flexible soil placement, craft agricultural science packs at full freshness, and adjust how long they take to spoil.
Better Soil
Make more of Gleba's terrain available for farming:
- Artificial yumako soil can be placed throughout Gleba's green biome.
- Artificial jellynut soil can be placed throughout Gleba's purple biome.
- Overgrowth yumako soil and overgrowth jellynut soil can be placed on all natural Gleba terrain, including deep lakes and the opposite crop's natural soil.
These expanded placement rules apply to Gleba terrain.
Always Fresh Agricultural Science
Newly crafted agricultural science packs are always 100% fresh, even when made with partially spoiled ingredients. Packs still spoil normally after crafting, so storage and transport time still matter.
Agricultural Science Spoil Time
Set how long a fully fresh, normal-quality agricultural science pack takes to spoil, in whole seconds. The default is 3600 seconds (1 hour), matching Factorio. Higher-quality packs retain their normal spoil-time bonus.
Set the value to 0 to disable this override and leave the spoil time unchanged, including changes made by other mods. Zero does not prevent spoilage. This setting works independently of Always Fresh Agricultural Science, which controls freshness at crafting.
Settings
All tweaks are configured independently in Settings → Mod settings → Startup. Better Soil and Always Fresh Agricultural Science are enabled by default; Agricultural Science Spoil Time defaults to 3600 seconds. Restart Factorio to apply changes.
Disable a toggle or set spoil time to 0 to leave that feature's rules unchanged by this mod.
