Von Neumann Mod!

This is a scenario!
So to use this mod: Launch Factorio > Play > Scenarios > Von Neumann/Freeplay > Map Generator Preset: Von Neumann Scenario > Play

Who wants to be a sack of blood and bones when you can be an hyper-intelligent self-replicating robot!

You are Bob. Bob is a Von-Neumann probe. A self-aware AI in charge of a spaceship capable of replicating itself. Your mission is to set out to explore the stars for humanity, find worlds worthy of colonization and set up an infrastructure to pave the way for arriving colony ships. AIs don't have bodies, or hands, so in this scenario you will have to rely entirely on your robot buddies to do the work for you. Yes, you DO start with early robots! But, there's a challenge to that. Everything you do will require a roboport nearby, with power, and plenty of robots. You won't be able to strap lasers and shields to your 6 exoskeletons and go running into a hive of biters. No items can be crafted by hand, at all! Placing railways will require careful chains of roboports to reach your destination. You'll have to carefully plan your base around roboports having enough logistic and construction coverage. On the other hand, you're nigh invincible and can command with impunity from biters and other fleshy challenges.

We strongly recommend enabling the "Pick ghost item if no items are available" setting under the 'Interaction' section of 'Interface Settings'. With that option enabled, you can click a slot in your toolbar and choose an item. Then click again to put the ghost of that item on your finger.
